Main Drain Cleaning and Video Inspection

Main Drain Cleanout Service

Slow draining pipes and chronic clogs can be caused by problems deep within the pipes – inside or outside of your home.

If you believe that there is something really wrong with the efficiency of your drainpipes, video drain inspection can accurately diagnose the problem and location in a non-invasive way.

Signs your pipes may be compromised

You might have noticed that water is draining slowly from your sink, or that there is a funny smell coming from your drain. Worst of all, you see sewage backing up in your home!

The problem could be the intrusion of roots or crushed, cracked, rusted or misaligned piping in your main drain line – possibly a combination (roots take full opportunity of a chance to find new sources of water). But clogged drains are most commonly caused by buildup of food, grease, hair, toilet paper or “flushable” wipes (hint … there is no such thing) that have gone down the drain. Over time the debris builds and can cause a slow drain and eventually a clog.

A main sewer line blockage is an even larger problem that shows as multiple slow draining sinks or a sewage backup.

That’s where Plumbtech Plumbing Inc. comes in – to get the pipes cleared and draining properly again. Call us today so we can see what’s happening in your drains.

What is Video Inspection?

With Video Inspection one of our plumbers funnels a cable fitted with a mini camera and light down your drain. The camera will transmit an image of the interior of the pipes to a monitor where the condition of the pipes can be seen and diagnosed. The problem can then be easily diagnosed without having to dig up your yard or put holes in your floor or walls to find the problem.

We are your best choice for plumbing services. Contact us today.

We can accurately pinpoint the location and depth, allowing for accurate access to the problem.

Our equipment can quickly inspect the condition of your drain lines and locate the problem. Efficient diagnosis saves time and money by ensuring a targeted, efficient solution. Furthermore, we will contract for excavation and the replacement of waterlines, and sewer and storm drains where necessary.

Water going down a kitchen sink drain

How to prevent main drain problems

Your toilet is not a garbage receptacle. Make sure only the three P’s get flushed down your toilet – pee, poop and paper. Other paper products such as tissues, wipes, napkins, diapers, cat litter and hygiene products do not belong in the sewage system. Pouring grease down a kitchen sink is also guaranteed to deliver future headaches. It may take a while but, rest assured, it will become a problem.

Tips for Clog-free Drains

  • Do not empty grease, coffee grinds, food remnants down your sinks.
  • Invest in mesh screens for your drains that will catch all food particles from the kitchen sink or, in the shower, hair that would otherwise go down the drain.
  • Brush your hair before showering
  • Do not throw tissues, “flushable wipes” (hint … there is no such thing), napkins, diapers, or hygiene products in your toilet – your toilet is not a garbage disposal system
  • Run hot water through your pipes often to dislodge any buildup
  • Schedule a regular drain cleaning
