5 Things you need to know about…. Theatre by the Bay
Plumbtech Plumbing is proud to support Theatre by the Bay by highlighting the great work they do in our community. Learn more about how you can become a part of all the great things TBTB has to offer!
1. Theatre by the Bay offers workshops and development opportunities.
If you are a writer or an actor, TBTB provides unique opportunities for you to be creative!
The Barrie Theatre Lab is a monthly gathering of writers and actors. Actors read works-in-progress out loud, and then give feedback and network! Normally in person at the Barrie Public Library, the Barrie Theatre Lab has been running virtually since last October.
The Professional Workshop Series is a new theatre creation series where acclaimed professional theatre artists give you tools and tricks for writing new plays!
Spark Sessions are monthly gatherings where writers can get together, share ideas, and work on their stories. Think of them as time with your ‘accountability squad’.
2. You can become a member and/or donate
Donations and Memberships are the lifeblood of Theatre by the Bay – especially right now. Extremely affordable, and with some great perks (and more coming soon), there has never been a better (or more important) time to donate to Theatre by the Bay.

3. You can become involved by volunteering, acting, writing etc.
There are tons of ways to be involved with TBTB! Once they are able to deliver live in-person performances again, they will definitely be in need of volunteers. Plus, actors and writers are always welcome to submit. A big part of Theatre by the Bay’s mandate is that they hire local artists. If that includes you, you are welcome to apply!
4. There’s lots happening in 2021 at TBTB
While TBTB aren’t able to reveal all of their plans yet (they have to watch the skies closely these days, after all) TBTB can say that they have some really exciting educational and virtual programming coming up which people should definitely follow closely.
5.You can keep up to date with TBTB
The TBTB newsletter is their ‘go-to’ for theatre news, but they are also very active on social media (Facebook, Instagram). They also have an exclusive Barrie Theatre Lab newsletter, which includes audition announcements, upcoming events in the region, and MUCH more!
We hope that this blog has inspired you to support Theatre by the Bay by becoming a member, donating, volunteering or participating as actors, playwrights or just by buying a ticket to one of their performances – either virtually or eventually live.
