Plumbtech Plumbing owner Marc Benoit is a huge community patron. Each month we will be shining a light on one of the many associations he supports.
Plumbtech is a supporter of the MacLaren Art Centre – an integral part of our community in Barrie. They are happy to sponsor the “Off the Hook” Art Auction held annually in November.
#1 The MacLaren Art Centre has great exhibitions by Canadian and International artists. There are always exhibitions featured in the galleries at the MacLaren Art Centre. Currently there are 3 showing which include works from Henry Moore “Elephant Skull”, Erika DeFreitas: “everything she inspires remains, belongs to light” and “The Uncanny Outdoors” a selection of landscapes by a selection of Canadian artists. The MacLaren also has an amazing selection of online exhibits on their website.
#2 They have a great variety of online classes and free activities available. Even though the MacLaren Art Centre isn’t open for in-person programming right now, they have a great selection of virtual class offerings for adults, families, youth and children this winter. #3 The MacLaren Art Centre has a shop, a café, framing services and art rentals and sales available. The Gallery Shop just inside the front door of the gallery features a selection of art, jewellery, stationery, crafts, pottery plus a whole lot more created by local creators. The Gallery Café features light meals and hot or cold beverages to serve as refreshment after your visit. You can also rent or buy a piece of art from their inventory. #4 You can support the MacLaren Art Centre. All through the year you can support the MacLaren with one of their many fundraisers such as MacLaren TV Bingo, Art Auction, or the Benefactor Art Exchange.
#5 You can become a member. For $50, an individual can join and enjoy the many benefits of becoming a MacLaren Art Centre member. There are other prices available for students, seniors and families that you can explore on their website.
