We are happy to feature Big Brothers Big Sisters Barrie this month.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Barrie and District has been providing mentoring experiences for over 50 years to young people who face adversity and are in need of an additional consistent and supportive Developmental Relationship.
Their vision is that all young people realize their full potential.
#1 BBBS Barrie provides their mentoring programs free of charge to children and youth in the community. Their programs include one to one mentoring within the community and also school-based mentoring that consists of both group and one to one mentoring.

BBBS Barrie relies on the generosity of the community to provide their mentoring programs free of charge.
Through fundraising initiatives/events and monthly, planned, or third-party events there are many ways to contribute and make a difference in the lives of the young people in our community!
This fall, BBBS Barrie has a number of new and exciting ways to get involved including a Festive Wreath fundraiser and they are looking for partners to come on board.

Make an impact in the life of a young person for as little as one hour per week or up to three hours per week. BBBS Barrie also has opportunities to volunteer on our Board of Directors and various event and fundraising committees
#4 There is an increased demand for services right now
Our young people need us now!
COVID-19 has affected the few connections vulnerable kids have from the very people they look up to and the encouragement they need. This is a risk to their mental and physical health, and they are in danger of being left behind. With 45 youth on their waiting-list now, combined with a prolonged period of social isolation, that need will grow.
#5 BBBS is dedicated to ensuring the kids we serve free of charge have the resources to be successful.
Your support is needed more than ever and will ensure we can connect them to the strong mentoring relationships that are vitally needed to help them.
